Alain Dartevelle nous donne, dans le style du Ballard de Vermillion Sands, huit images d'Infinity City, ville à l'écart du monde, préservée des conflits et désastres écologiques qui sévissent sur notre planète, même s'il arrive qu'un jeune de la cité soit envoyé au front d'une guerre qui ne touche pas la ville. Et il nous offre plus précisément quelques images de la vie des plus puissants de cette ville, ou de celle de ceux qui subissent leurs frasques et leurs fantasmes.

Tout auréolé de son récent Prix décerné par l’Académie Royale de Belgique pour Amours sanglantes, Alain Dartevelle publie un nouveau recueil de nouvelles, différent mais tout aussi personnel. Huit récits entrelacés, se déroulant dans un même décor : Infinity City. Drôle de ville, en vérité, située on ne sait où, on ne sait quand. Elle est isolée du monde extérieur, lequel est en proie à de violents conflits jamais explicités. L’invasion extraterrestre relatée par trois fois a-t-elle vraiment lieu ? Les personnages existent-ils ou rêvent-ils ?
