Ainsi se trouve résumée sa mission, qui est de voler vers le passé. En effet, grâce à elle, on peut prendre le petit déjeuner à sept heures à Paris au XIXe siècle, s’offrir un en-cas à midi en Russie avec Pierre le Grand, déjeuner à dix-sept heures à Madrid avec Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra – s’il a de quoi payer ce jour-là – et, la nuit tombant en chemin, débarquer à l’aube avec Colomb sur les plages vierges de l’Amérique.
