Il y a longtemps de cela, avant même que n’existent les Hérauts et leurs Compagnons, une guerre engagea la Magie et de grands Mages. Parmi ceux-là, l’infâme Ma’ar, maléfique et envieux. Et surtout Urtho, le Mage du Silence qui a su créer de nouvelles races comme les magnifiques griffons. Oui magnifiques, pas comme les pathétiques tentatives de création de Ma’ar ! Ma’ar haît les griffons, et il haît Urtho. Une guerre sans merci les oppose, la Guerre des Mages ! Le griffon noir
