Nouvelle-Angleterre, fin de l'été. Wendy Davies, 16 ans, plonge sa voiture dans un lac, avec ses deux petits frères à bord. À son réveil, on lui dit que Michael, le plus jeune, est mort. Wendy est persuadée qu’il est vivant et sous la garde d'un mystérieux garçon volant. La psychologue, que ses parents l’obligent à voir, lui demande de dessiner ce qui lui passe par la tête. Mais peu à peu la frontière entre son imaginaire et la réalité s’estompe et Wendy commence à perdre pied…

  Voilà un roman graphique ultra original, aux dessins absolument sublimes ! Je suis particulièrement fan des publications Ankama mais, là, ils ont fait fort avec cette petite pépite.Elle se décline en noir et blanc, avec des touches de tons pastels, à l'image des touches de rêve qui prennent le pas sur la réalité de Wendy. C'est une histoire touchante sur le parcours du deuil, les difficultés de l'acceptation, les moyens qu'on emploie parfois pour fuir la réalité, le temps nécessaire pour enfin faire face. Les références à Peter Pan sont vraiment bien amenées et pertinentes.Tout se mélange pour un résultat surprenant et original. Il s'agit là pour moi de la parfaite association du dessin et du texte au service de l'art : de la pure poésie.
