Lou n’est pas une ado sage : que du contraire, elle s’oppose farouchement à ses parents, a de mauvaises fréquentations, fume du cannabis. Mais dans cette société, ce n’est pas chose admise et Lou part dans un camp paramilitaire pour apprendre à se tenir correctement. Mais ce camp cache beaucoup de choses, y compris une forme de nettoyage de cerveau.

J’ai choisi de mettre cette critique en littérature blanche car c’est déjà une réalité aux USA : les jeunes délinquants passent, à la demande de leurs parents, dans pareils camps. On a déjà exploité le filon pour des épisodes comme dans « Les Experts » et autres pour dénoncer le principe de silence et de violence qui prévaut dans ces lieux tenus à l’écart du monde.

Ici aussi Lou va devoir se battre pour retrouver sa liberté mais non sans avoir réfléchi à son comportement.

Même si éduquer un ado est en soi une véritable aventure, ca démontre qu’il vaut mieux qu’ils aient du caractère, même difficile, que d’avoir un mouton suiveur à la maison ! Ce court roman est très illustrateur de ces attitudes autant parentales (à la recherche de l’enfant parfait) qu’adolescentes (poser les limites toujours plus loin) qu’on peut vivre au quotidien.
